There are so many great things to do in Georgia and because of that Georgia is a wonderful place to vacation. Here are my suggestions on where to stay and what to do.
Book a room at the Embassy Suites on Marietta Street. Get a room that has a view of the Centennial Olympic Park. The prices here are reasonable and you will be in the thick of a lot of attractions. www.EmbassySuites.com.
The Embassy Suites is walking distance to a few big attractions-http://www.atlanta.net/visitors/attractions.html.
From your hotel you can walk to the Aquarium which is very fun and interactive for adults and children alike, the World of Coca Cola where there is a 4D theater, tastings, and you can watch the bottling process, the CNN building where they give tours, and the basketball stadium to see the Atlanta Hawks play.
If you will be in Atlanta for more than 4 days I suggest getting the Atlanta CityPass. It's a great way to save time and money on ticket purchases.
Just a short drive or bus ride from your hotel you can visit Zoo Atlanta-zooatlanta.org or go see the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Historic Site.
If shopping is your thing Drive over to Buckhead. There is great shopping and eating there. In fact Rachael Ray did a feature on Buckhead on her Food Network show.
So go and enjoy Atlanta, Georgia and come back and tell me how it was.
